Homemade Chinese Five-Spice
This version uses a combination of black pepper and coriander as a substitute for Sichuan peppercorns.
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp Star anise, ground
- 1 tbsp Fennel seeds, ground
- 1 tbsp Cinnamon, ground
- 1 tsp Cloves, ground
- 2 tsp Black pepper, ground
- 1 tsp Coriander, ground
Instructions
- Grind: Use a mortar and pestle to pulverize into a fine powder.
- Sieve: Pass the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve to remove woody fragments.
