From the Betty Crocker Cookbook
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup shortening (Crisco)
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose white flour
- 3/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
Directions
- Thoroughly mix shortening, peanut butter, white and brown sugar, and the egg
- Blend in flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt
- Cover and chill
- Heat over to 375
- Shape dough into 1 inch balls. With fork dipped in flour, flatten in crisscross pattern to 2 inches
- Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until set but not hard
