Ingredients

5 lbs ground beef (93%)
3 tablespoon olive oil
2 whole yellow onions
2 whole green peppers
6 cloves garlic minced
1 cup white wine
2 cans crushed tomatoes 28 oz
1 can crushed tomatoes 14 oz
1 can tomato paste (small)
1 jar marinara sauce
1 teaspoon oregano
4 whole bay leaves
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
2 teaspoons salt
1/4 cup parsley
1 wedge Parmesan cheese

Directions

  1. In a large pot, brown the ground round and drain
  2. Drizzle in olive oil and put the diced onion and pepper in, cook until soft
  3. add in garlic and give it another minute
  4. pour in the wine, allow it to reduce for a few minutes, add in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, spices except for parsley
  5. stir and add in the ground beef, simmer with lid on for 1 hr
  6. discard bay leaves, add in parsley and cheese wedge
  7. stir to combine, put lid on and simmer for another 30 min
